If and/or when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
A contact form is provided for professional inquiries. The contact form is not intended for the transmission of sensitive personal data, but rather to is a means to begin conversations surrounding legitimate professional inquiries. The contact form is not directly linked to a regularly monitored email.
Kristin Heider Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist based in the Iowa City serving the Iowa Corridor area. Contact with Kristin Heider Psy.D. via email, telephone, or during any phone consultation does not constitute an official therapeutic relationship. Until you and Kristin Heider Psy.D. have mutually agreed to proceed with therapy, and have both signed all forms required by Kristin Heider Psy.D. as well as any forms required by the practice which Kristin Heider Psy.D. is an associate of, Counseling and Health Center (Iowa City), and any for Psychotherapy, you are not a client of Kristin Heider Psy.D.. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, you may call the National Crisis Hotline: 1.800.273.8255. If you are in imminent danger of harming yourself or someone else, call 911 and wait for instruction, or, if you can do so safely, proceed immediately to the nearest emergency room.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
